April 11, 2007 - New Delhi, India – Momentum Technologies, a global IT Service provider, announced that its Global Development Center in India has been certified to be compliant of the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 standard.

ISO/IEC 27001 is an information security management system (ISMS) standard published in October 2005 by the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission. Its full name is ISO/IEC 27001:2005 - Information technology -- Security techniques -- Information security management systems -- Requirements but it is commonly known as "ISO 27001".

Momentum's initiative for ISO 27001 started a year back and by the end of 2006 DNV (Det Norske Veritas) audited Momentum for its Information Security practices. DNV auditors have recommended Momentum for ISO 27001 certificate in December 2006.
